NFL Partners With Twitch To Connect Gamers, Fans and Madden

The National Football League (NFL) is partnering with Amazon’s Twitch livestream and video service along with game publisher Electronic Arts for a weekly digital series about news, tips and tricks for the popular EA Sports “Madden” title.

Fans will be able to watch “EA Sports Madden NFL Live” weekly on NFL.com and Twitch (www.twitch.tv/NFL) Fridays at 12 noon ET, starting September 25th.

A replay will air on NFL Network at 4pm ET on Friday with segments and clips on demand via NFL.com, NFL Mobile and Twitch.

“Madden NFL Live,” produced by NFL Media, will provide news, user plays of the week and player ratings updates along with recaps of the previous week’s NFL action, rendered virtually from Madden NFL 16.

NFL Media host Adam Rank and former Pro Bowl running back Maurice Jones-Drew will host “EA Sports Madden NFL Live” and be joined by Scott “Coltrane” Cole, one of the top eSports broadcasters for Twitch and a top-ranked “Madden” gamer to provide analysis and commentary.

“This series will cater to the cross-section of two extremely passionate communities — NFL fans and gamers,” said Jones-Drew. “I’ve been a huge fan of ‘Madden NFL’ for years and I know how popular the game is with NFL players, fans and gamers around the world.”

“Madden NFL 16” is developed in Orlando, Fla., by EA Tiburon and is available for Microsoft’s Xbox One and Xbox 360, and Sony’s PlayStation3 and PS4.

Player participation in the digital series is being facilitated by NFL Players Inc., the licensing and marketing subsidiary of the NFL Players Association.
