Twitter’s partnership with Google to include tweets in mobile search results has proven successful and will now be rolled out onto desktops.
That agreement, which was announced in a blog post in May, was designed to put “real-time info” into Google’s search results as well as providing Twitter users with a larger audience for their content.
Now when something is searched on Google a feed of the latest tweets relating to the searched term will come up. Typing in a hashtag to Google will also generate a list of trending tweets will emerge.
Google recently announced an update in the original blog post to say that it would now include tweets in desktop.
It’s increased opportunity for Twitter to engage with current users and gain new ones.
